On the way to take one of the best photos I have ever taken, I paused to shoot this.

In a semi-desperate attempt to cull my quickly advancing GAS condition, i decided to research the internet for the ONE camera to end them all.  I had a list of criteria in my head and a whole bunch of options.  Having read the blogs and forums, pros and cons here and there, I narrowed it down to one such camera - The Leica M6. Then I woke up, and settled for the Olympus 35 RC . The RC has some insanely good and controversial reviews online where it's compared favourably with a Leica.  So I figured, I'd get one of these, and wont ever need another film camera.  I also didn't see any issues like the Yashica's Pad of Death nor the Canonet's Sticky Sutter of death or anything of death for that matter.  The only two issues were the battery, and the fact that you can't use it in aperture priority mode - but oh well.  Besides, I only planned to use it in full manual mode, in which case neither of these issues mattered. This is the tunnel of life.  Some are going and some are coming.

It’s that time of the year when many corporate workers here get ‘the letter’.  This is not to be confused with ‘the  pink  letter’, which is an entirely different thing.  It is the time one is rewarded or punished for one’s endeavours, or lack thereof, over the previous year.  Where they still exist, the bonuses to be handed out are stated in this document, as are any wage rises or falls. These are the days filled with thoughts of career prospects, corporate ladders and glass ceilings.

You heard it here first.  Sunday has been renamed appropriately.  

May I recommend Borough Market ?  Yes I think I may.  Head directly to the south bank of the river Thames, near the London Bridge end.  Just before you hit the bridge, there it is under the shadow of the Southwark Cathedral (yes and that of the infamous Shard). Walk aimlessly around the many corners of the market like everyone else and marvel at the amount of cheese and meat products available.  Be charmed by the variety of hand made sweets and desserts on display.  It's not all just about food though; there's art, there's craft, there's agriculture and what have you. Inevitably, your legs will start to hurt, and your belly will growl.  Of course you can be clever about all this and eat your way through the market for absolutely free by 'sampling' all the edible produce offered you, but seriously what you want to do is stumble upon the Posh Banger Boys.  Contrary to the name, there's nothing at all posh about this burger (and sausa...

I'm quite sure of it.  Had I not accidentally opened the back of my Soviet tank that is the Zenit-E and accidentally exposed this frame, there would have emerged a gorgeously colour-rich scene of a bird on a riverside rail with St. Paul's creamily bokeh'd in the background.  Alas!  I did open, and I did expose, and in stead we have a dream of bird on a riverside rail with St. Paul's creamily bokeh'd in the background.  Beauty in imperfection - that's analog photography for you.

The Shard ever since it's conception has been a target of Londoners' protest and ridicule.  It's aesthetically out of place - perhaps better suited to a younger city.  You know what though, now I'm thinking 'eh, it doesn't look so bad actually'.

Such is the epic cult following of this camera that I doubt there’s any GAS infected photographer/classic camera collector that doesn’t own one, hasn’t owned one, or will not soon own one or at least desire one, or a variant thereof.   By ‘variant’ I am referring to the various iterations of the Yashica Electro 35 – GT, GS, GTN, GSN, GX, and so on. If there was one cloud left in the whole world, it would be floating over the UK, probably Wales. We live our lives under the great overcast. Having said that, when the sky clears up, as it did during the last 3 days, boy does it get blue. Even polluted London at times gets Caribbean-like blue skies. It's true!
